playthrough of wallace & gromit's grand adventures continued this morning with muzzled
i think i've (re)-realized the problem with these games - the qualities that make wallace & gromit good as characters make them terrible adventure game protagonists
part of the adventure game logic is that sometimes you're going to have to be an arsehole to people. wallace at least often bumbles into this, but that can't be said of every example.
at the same time, he's also too timid to ask Mr. Obviously-A-Dognapper where the fuck gromit is.
gromit, on the other hand, his silence and expressiveness is great in a film - but in an adventure game that doesn't have the same budget, "i can't use these things together", "that doesn't need to be made radioactive", "good idea but not yet", "on the right track but it needs a slight tweak" all get bundled into the same head shake animation. if there isn't a human in the scene with gromit, there's no way to determine context of what you're getting wrong
