I love watching people just find out about Cougr but man it drives me nuts when folks put him up like a historical artifact. I know they're not trying to do it on purpose or be weird, but it just rubs me the wrong way.
My man is still here, he is still active and alive and social. He is sweet and humble and lovable and working through health and disabilities and kicking ass. He's supporting his partner and running a household, and he is still here. Don't put him up on a shelf like a memory gone by, go show him love.

Hey thanks for remarking on this. Much as I am glad Ken's getting recognition he also deserves traffic, active attention for his CURRENT work not just his past contributions. I think this is real important to keep in mind and I'm glad you spoke up about it!
It always blows my mind because people are like "Man what ever happened to Ken Cougr" and I'm over here like YALL I SPEAK TO THIS MAN EVERY DAY, GO SIGN UP FOR HIS PATREON HE'S GOT BILLS
this is why you getting a shitload of art from him was so delightful to me because it very clearly solidified in my mind that he is not a historical artifact he still does this and he still loves it, and he RULES
it's so EERIE and unsettling, it's like people are almost eulogizing the guy out of habit and I bristle at the idea of closing the cover on someone's book before they're even goddamn finished writing it.
It's even weirder when they do find out and they show up in chat and they're like "what happened to all those other people on Macrophile like Person and Bennie etc etc" and said people are also in the chat. Like, y'all. Y'ALL
