discussions tonight turned to the cases of making something original out of corporate work
and i'm thinking how different our lives would be if old headcanons about bubsy - what happens when a game kills a franchise so much that the star has to take a regular job - hadn't been forced to be diverted into something original
which wouldn't have happened without atari sa's 2013 bankruptcy, subsequent sale of accolade's franchises to tommo, and tommo putting out some weird in character press releases or tweets
i have to assume i'd have still ended up a dragon 1 at some point.
but i have no idea if the "not a platformer" version would have ended up remotely the same without reason to link form and function
