recently, i tried to install navidrome on an old raspberry pi zero. this went pretty wrong, primarily due to said raspi zero also hosting DNS and it just being way too much for it
today i "adapted" 1 the ansible playbook i used to install on the pi on zero to install on my old mac mini
and it turns out even with the poor SMB performance on Mac, it's a lot faster for it to scan things when it has more CPU to throw at the problem than a potato

read: i ended up doing some things manually because some of the posix commands just don't seem to work properly on mac, and it was easier just mounting the media drive as a login item rather than trying to figure out why it wasn't mounting via CIFS
