as in, you did that? for this?!?!

Dex
@Dex

it is 5am and i am still reeling from this

a few hints but trying to avoid spoiling too heavily

imagine a piece of software so poorly conceived that in the (incredibly likely) event there is any form of vulnerability with it, the user's best course of action if their machine is visibly compromised in any way is to immediately throw their hard drive into an industrial shredder

a piece of software where the only reason why HP didn't get sued is because corporate IT departments immediately reimage to get shit like it off
(and corporate IT immediately reimaging brings it further into question who on earth the intended functionality was meant for)

in reply to @cathoderaydude's post:

The close comments make me think its the AMD managment core or misusing a less integrated BMC. A smart NIC might also be coaxed into that job but those are too new, too big, and too expensive for a laptop.

The comments about suicidal firmware engineers make me think some kind of alt ISA mode on a Transmeta core runming alongside the main x86 one (A new processor crime that I also want to exist)
