(this post is long, rambly and unorganized largely because i'm just going through the version of the quarterly review in our journals and picking out points)

previously - quarterly review, q4, part 2

this year's theme is generally unfucking shit

and the short version of this review is that some shit remains fucked out of executive dysfunction

but we're always making incremental progress towards something
(even if it's not the thing we know we should be working on)

work life balance is more fucked than it was this time last year with how much more overtime and on-call are cutting into schedule
but i moved roles and i still feel like i'm in that just settling in phase, particularly following the recent restructuring/round of layoffs

we're taking selfies again and posting them beyond the borders of πŸ’œ's locked twitter account. (and appreciating every time one friend makes a macro edit of them)

we survived the kindness nexus and came out stronger together as a result (granted, some part of brain also caused the kindness nexus but oh well)

still getting pretty heavy RSD flareups sometimes.

we've done more with getting started with voice training - singing a lot of songs to ourselves round the house and trying to match 🩷's voice

i feel like we've written more, even if some of the blog posts are currently in the draft phase.

we very quickly set up the kangaroo in vrc... making it perhaps a little more annoying that what we're stalling on right now is unity work

we've started down the path of ripping all the spaghetti code out of my website, with a goal of making something it's hopefully a lot nicer to update in future

there is still a tendency to overconsume media
but at least more of it is a little more educational

a lot of ups and downs
but more ups than downs on balance.
maybe some of the now more urgent deadlines will help break some of the funk

("post public version of quarterly review" was one of the tasks we'd been stalling on, with not figuring out how to edit the journal version down - in the end, starting from scratch and picking out key points stream of consciousness style was easier)
