So, after posting this morning's Apto April post, I was reminded of a few things.

As I've said before, size is one of our earliest obsessions. It pre-dates us getting Internet access. And that, I think led to... different perspectives than a lot of other people that like macro art?

I think back to how one of the first macro dedicated things we saw online - beyond that site with pretty primitive Lion King photoshops - was Tirrel's webcomic Not Big and Not Clever, now mostly lost to time; featuring macros Fucking Up in various ways; tripping over power lines, playing hide and seek with someone's cars.

I think about a piece a friend wrote about the inherent silliness of all this, which we read during that dark time I was ashamed to admit to being a furry, never mind the multitudes of other things I now wear proudly on my sleeve.

And I think that's lead to more willingness than most to be the butt of the joke when it comes to being big than many. There's no sense of "worship me, pathetic bugs" - at least not without making it very clear that I'm reading from a script someone's handed to me.

Our head's always been in the clouds. Sometimes there's something funny about coming back down to earth very suddenly.

yeah, I've never been into the power-trip side of things myself, either! I don't like the idea of abusing other folks just because of a size difference (though having a bunch of smaller folks come together to pamper me is a really fun idea - but even then, the vibe's gotta be that it's something they're into to, not that I'm Bigger Than You So I Deserve This). That's all well and good for some folks, but it's not where I find my fun.
