if there's any issue i have with vrchat as a platform for discovering and exploring the weird and wonderful
it is that world creators are so limited in how their worlds can ever be seen
i see a friend exploring somewhere that looks really, really cool
and i can guarantee that i will struggle so much to find it unless they can provide a link or a name
because the only image VRChat worlds have is the preview thumbnail
user settable; does not have to reflect world content in the slightest
every world visited must be judged by its cover (and a few tags that may say nothing)
"but dex, other games with thousands of user created levels have discoverability issues too"
and yes
of course they do
but they do what they can to mitigate it
i think sometimes about this garry's mod map that i stumbled upon while playing jazztronauts
would finding that map from just my tesco screenshot be a nightmare? yes (ignoring the map name in the FPS counter)
but would it be possible? i believe there'd at least be a slightly better chance from being able to compare multiple screenshots and the similar geometry
rather than the cover photo being all you get
