I haven’t been inside a movie theater since @aviyinglet and I saw Sonic The Hedgehog on Valentine’s Day 2020, shortly before Anthro New England and then VancouFur and then lockdown. But I remember a specific fad in Regal Cinemas circa 2005 where the theater had a pre-roll called “The Twenty,” containing behind-the-scenes featurettes and commercials and trivia slides that ran before the movie and policy trailers preceding the film itself.
So when a bunch of friends in VRChat started making a semi-regular thing out of streaming feature-length content to the oversized video player in the Luminescent Ledge, I offered a way to kill time while folks were filing into the instance and getting themselves situated. Each reel is twenty minutes long, containing a running loop of trivia/Q&A slides set to whatever I’ve been listening to at the moment (hi @pixelatedpenny), capped off with a couple of movie trailers and finally a static card instructing how to get the most out of the viewing experience.
I’ve made ten of these so far. I’m pretty proud of them.
