I've seen folks pondering the concept of a transformation pride flag of sorts and now I'm kinda intrigued in how that might work.

What symbolism can you take from a thing that has no fixed physical representation and can, by its nature, encompass all symbols? What colours do you use to represent something that can be all colours?

So far I've pondered light passing through a prism to become a rainbow, some sort of butterfly/metamorphosis symbology, or maybe something akin to a strand of DNA being unravelled. No idea what colours might work for any of those, though.

I made a pass at my 'unravelling DNA' idea, apeing the colours of the nonhuman unity and voidpunk flags in lieu of having any colours with specific symbolism.

I quite like the asymmetrical aspect of it, transformation is an asymmetrical change of state after all, though it could obviously use some iterations.

Actually a good idea. I think with something inside it - perhaps some chevrons in the same vein as the Progress Pride flag - it'd probably fit in quite well
Besides, it's basically just a triangle, it's not like you're putting a whole sentence on there

I actually thought about this a couple years back. Came up with the same delta idea as Tanwen's said; also a canton or something with a white circle for the full moon? You could also just slap the yaodema trefoil on a flag, but that has specific connotations of irradiation and vectors of transmissibility. I think using symbology of specific, well-known kinds of TF is good as a kind of synecdoche. But based on the post, you might not find those ideas satisfying.

I guess at its core, transformation is an unusual change in shape over time, and a main way to represent time in a static visual medium is with panels. So—maybe this would even be too literal—but we could have a tricolor that doubles as a simplified icon of a TF comic, with like a basic shape turning into another shape. Three panels so there's a midstage, to make it obvious it's the same thing depicted in each region.

That doesn't help with the palette but there are probably specific colors with symbolism we could use.
