so, my old apple watch's battery has been playing up recently (even before the upgrade to watchos 10, but significantly worse after it - but it might still have been in the adjustment period)
and so after seeing the lack of upgrades in the ultra 2 1, i bought a used ultra 1 - with either the goal of seeing if it was too big for me and returning it, or trading in the old one quickly in an attempt to do so before the prices drop from this year's model
and
i can say outright that i'm never going to run a marathon
or climb a mountain (i struggle enough with some hills)
maybe i'll take it swimming at some point but probably not at extreme depths
but this thing is just nicer, in every single respect than the standard models and in ways i don't think i can fully describe to people that haven't used the standard ones
the screen is just so much bigger and brighter
the battery lasts for days rather than not even a full one
it's big, but it feels light and like it sits flatter on the wrist
the swipe keyboard is actually usable
so yeah, the next time i upgrade 2, this actually has already basically taken the standard models out of consideration for me because i wasn't expecting such an improvement

there are situations where tapping fingers together might prevent a nose tap, but given our ability to fidget i'd be very worried about false activations
