This is an interesting question.
Like, my go to comparison always tends to be Bubsy, but that's not quite right this time; Bubsy was always intended to be multiplatform, so what you have are melodies that can work on both but were pretty clearly written for the SNES first (compare - fair is foul - SNES version / MD version
later games might still have borrowed bubsy 2's dynamic soundtrack, at least for some levels
as a european developed game, the other obvious port path would have been from the amiga's equivalent, with music written around the capabilities of that system. the key example here would be james pond 2 - which again, doesn't feel quite right when thinking about gameplay which does not match the amiga style at the time - though some games may have used a legally distinct version of puff the magic dragon in the same way james pond 2 uses the robocop theme
as much as i'd like to make the comparison with dynamite headdy and the like, dex's developers wouldn't have had that level of technical knowledge of the hardware, or budget
so this would suggest something like garfield: caught in the act, although that's still probably too high budget/late in the day?
