so iOS has a thing called focus modes that allow you to do things like silence notifications from certain apps, change wallpaper, and show different home screens with a different selection of apps.

I do make fairly heavy use of this feature, it's good for showing the right apps in the right contexts (e.g. the travelling one gives easy access to any travel app I might need that I just don't use at other times, as well as widgets showing upcoming train times ).
In the case of this sleep one, I forgot that I'd set up this more minimalist home screen because I forgot to turn the regular ones off, fixed now.
the problem is that while this can help to cue things mentally, or forcing a question of "should I be using this right now" if searching for a specific app not on the current set of home screens
there is the slight problem that most of the most distracting apps are for us in the dock, which does not change between focus modes
good for muscle memory, but less good for not checking email or youtube or whatever instead of turning the phone off and going back to bed
