This unlocked a memory of an Acorn computer in one of the first classrooms I was in in primary school. I was one of the only people who tried to use it because I had a PC at home (the perk of having a software engineer father) so I had experience figuring out a UI where others just went "I don't know how to use this".
I tried to bring my homework in on a floppy disk at one point (at the time when that was still a novel experience for most) but the thing couldn't read it.
my Archimedes memory is school having a couple of them, but because they were "the good computers", we weren't allowed to use them.
Like, the teachers were all in their mid 50s and this was the 90s so I don't think they even knew what computers were for or why you'd want them, never mind why treating it like "the good armchair" nobody is allowed to sit on is insane.
