I’d always meant to read Mizuki Shigeru’s work, and I finally got a chance to read The Birth of Kitaro which is a blast. Mizuki’s style is incredibly charming and readable, and he renders his world with so much whimsical wonder that you can’t help but fall in love with it.

I was gifted a copy of Die Homer by Tyler Hutchison, and it’s a delightful little comic. It’s a wonderfully offbeat piece of work that manages to avoid simple gimmickry through sheer strength and charm of realization. A really fun read.
Really enjoyed RABBIT GAME by Miyoshi, published by Glacier Bay Books. It's a gorgeous rendering of the intensity of emotional reality's defiance of the concrete, wondrously and wonderfully original in its formation, with some really lovely cartooning.
ALIENS: LABYRINTH is a story whose on-paper beats would be easy to phone in except the creative team just absolutely nail the requisite tone of menace and manipulation it needs. A really tight, uncomfortable, gorgeous piece of work.
