I'd been wanting to read this one for so long, and I finally finished the first volume, which is phenomenal; a gorgeously-curated range of voices, most of whom I'd never heard of, making beautifully low-key comics. Immediately a favorite anthology of mine.

I'm not convinced that this book is a successful effort—its conception of gnostic spirituality is rather ramshackle, and that lettering is an awful mismatch—but I'm increasingly convinced that Tradd Moore is the single best artist in the mainstream space...
The original run of Stray Bullets is tremendous—just a crescendo of misery that never loses a single bit of its impact. Lapham has a phenomenal ear for character that makes this all feel emotionally real, resulting in one of the most striking comics I’ve read.
This wasn't at all what I expected, but still a pleasure. It's honestly kind of shocking how little friction there is, in terms of Hernandez finding his footing; it's perfectly established, immensely assured but never "showy."
