Picking up Crisis Core again and I really think I would enjoy it a lot more if it just committed to being a shorter game instead of being padded to hell and back with missions. I enjoy the story segments but the missions just...aren't that fun.
Get over here I'm gonna kick your fucking ass
Opinions expressed are my own and not those of my employer or union. My contract requires the presence of that clause in my profile, which feels like a joke but is very real.

It's very much one of those handheld games that was designed with the philosophy of giving you a ton of short levels to play on your daily bus ride. Like peace walker or monster hunter or valkyria 2.
And that WOULD be fine if it was just dedicated to the postgame. But the game makes like 50 missions available to you from the outset and it's kind of unclear how many you're expected to complete before progressing with the main story.
yeah honestly I would just ignore them as much as possible, only do the minimum that gets you levelled enough to fight story enemies. It has a few fun moments but honestly it's not a fantastic game because of stuff like that.
It's kind of a time capsule in a way, it very much feels like a game where they were like, "look how much cool shit we can cram into this HANDHELD game!" but in so doing it pushes the player in too many directions with too many systems and that pushes them to optimize the fun out of the game. FF8 had the same problem.
