been doing (another) run of Elden ring to prepare for the DLC. Booted up a new save and I'm doing a slight challenge run where I'm cannot level my vigor at all, so im locked at 10 vig (lol).

Mostly doing it cuz my playstyle in soulslike games is to go for big poise/hyper armor and even bigger bonks. Which is a lot of fun! But I want to go outside of my comfort zone and attempt a playstyle that cannot rely as much on poise and trading hits. My build atm is basically an Arcane status build with mostly a reliance on claws, cuz imo I think of all the light weapons claws are the coolest.

Radahn has me the most stuck atm cuz, while he's not necessary to beat the game he IS necessary for the DLC, and more importantly, beating him is the only way to reach Nokron and get the Black Whetstone so I can have more flexible occult infusions outside of fucking lifesteal fist (god i wish that ash wasnt ass...). As you can imagine, most bosses up until Radahn have been a challenge to do but are generally not TOO bad, but Radahn is where I'm officially entering 1-hit territory and have to start doing things hitless (or MOSTLY hitless anyway, accounting for wonderous physick). I've gotten really close but Radahn's definitely being a wall to me atm.

My first run in elden ring was one of those, no vigor beam wizards. That and throwing rocks. No boss fight lasted more than 30 seconds, because either I died in one hit, or it died just as fast haha. It was funny, but absolutely brutal late game with how hard almost everythign starts hitting

"oh yeah SOTE is releasing soon" i say, as though i hadn't been obsessively looking at my calendar for the release date

really though it is pretty cool to try for other playstyles! I actually did a more dex-focused character and i was kind of surprised by how different the demands are there; turns out not being able to poise through hits is kind of a big deal.

I am absolutely dreading prepping a new save specifically because of Radahn. I only beat him the first time around through bolting directly past him and onto a cliff face where he couldn’t reach me and then pelting him with magic before that exploit was patched out. My own cowardice returns to haunt me
