Time has passed in vastly disparate ways for these two. For Nāmu, the large creature with white sparkling fur sitting opposite the human, it's been literal aeons since he last saw his old friends' real face. It's one of the few things he still remembers of his old life. He's been looking forward to this reunion for a long, long time. His friend Phillip, however, didn't look happy right now. "I must've been closer to him than I thought," thought Nāmu. I better give him some time. He let a silence fall between them, sipping from his coffee cup, listening to city ambience and the music of the stars. "How is your coffee, my friend?" said Nāmu. "Oh, it's... fine. Just fine." Said Phillip, clutching the handle of the cup. He hasn't looked up at Nāmu since he sat down with their coffee. "Do I intimidate you?" Said Nāmu, "You can tell me. I understand." "Well yeah, man, it's not every day some behemoth just appears on your front porch, claims to be your long lost friend and wants to catch up on what they missed out on!" "I'm sorry, I just don't know what to say. The things that I've seen, what stations I've taken up, what I've become- it's all so much! But, I just wanted to meet you again. I'm sure it's been long for you but, for me, it's been ages." Silence resumed again between the two, a sense of distance that felt impenetrable. Phillip saw the creature's eyes glance off to the side; he thought he saw some tears well up. "Well, just start with... what happened when you disappeared. Where did you go?" Said Phillip.

"When did Tobias become Nāmu?"

Hello everyone! I broke out of my comfort zone a bit more and decided to write a short story about one of my ocs. It's not the greatest- I haven't written a story since high school English class- but it was fun to try😁📖
