Reese doesn't speak in too much detail about his past; it's said that he moved out from southern Montana when his parents left to join a benedictine community. Besides the few odd jobs here and there, he edits and distributes his own poetry zine. He first met Hess at a battle of the bands competition and was enraptured by their sound.
