HAPPY99 (by @bighog) is a game about being 90s hackers at the end of the world that is currently crowdfunding! Here's the premise:

It’s 1998. Manhattan is underwater. The sky fell years ago. And the world ends on New Years. Happy celebration. Happy ‘99.

We’re trying to fight it. The Sears corporation built Edge City around their secret headquarters in Nebraska. It collapsed a decade ago, revealing their haunting secret project beneath the surface, and ever since Edge City has grown down and out, collecting more and more souls as it goes. And we’ve been in the alleyway shadows trying to crack in, break in, and smash everything we can. Anything to learn the truth they hide. Anything to find the keys that’ll give us more time.

But we need your help. We have the team, The Mouse, The Magical Girl, The Mom, each with our own unique sets of skills. But without you there will be a fraction more work to do and we'll fail. We all need to do our part. And this is your part. Build your computer and help us slip their firewalls, crack their code, and discover what they're hiding at the bottom of Edge City.

Right now it has a PvP demo (look at that how good that itch page looks! holy shit!) if you want some idea of what you'd be getting into - it's got a kind of Battleship vibe with a surprising depth of strategy. The primary game being kickstarted will be more of a PvE/co-op affair though. The goal is to release the book in a DVD case alongside a soundtrack created specifically for the game.

Give it a look if any of that sounds cool! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/basilisika/happy99-0
