Finished Spider-Man 2. Good game. Miles really comes into his own in this one. His standalone game really fleshes out his character but Spider-Man 2 really extends on that. Definitely required to play before Spider-Man 2 imo

This is actually a problem with Spider-Man 2099 and why it didn't really take off as a series. It came out at peak "oh, every story has to be gritty and edgy cause Dark Knight Returns did well so every comic book has to be that now". I never read it but i never got the idea that Miguel O'Hara was about his community to the degree that either Peter or Miles were. It makes sense that his story was changed somewhat in Across the Spider-Verse. If there was gonna be a Spider-Man that would be an antagonistic force in a world where everyone is Spider-Man, it'd probably be Miguel. Or Spidey in the black suit

They bring back Miguel in other things cause hey, the character is interesting and he does have his fans. But they usually bring him back to support some other Spider-Man. There's a time travel story in one of the comics where Miguel has to save Peter. This is also the plot to Spider-Man Edge of Time, a video game for the 360. And of course, there's Across the Spider-Verse where Miguel plays a big role. And the 2099 suit looks sick as hell so it keeps coming back as an unlockable costume in some of the video games. Like... just look at this suit and tell me it isn't awesome. You can't, you won't.

My favorite detail about Spider-Man is not just that he has "super strength" he has "the proportional strength of a spider" so basically he's as strong as a spider that's the size of a man. They couldn't just leave it at "he's got super strength" they had to work spiders into even that detail lol

They're apparently adding New Game Plus to Spider-Man 2 at some point. I'm not against New Game Plus but i don't really care about keeping all my skills and abilities but i DO want to keep all the suits i unlocked.
