wait i didn't think this was one of the finalists, did they just... kill the colors of the tricolor?
it looks great compared to their current and it's overall pretty snazzy just what
I thought they had picked a much worse design tbh, so that's a bit of a relief
It's a pretty nice flag! I think it'd look a little better if it had a bit more contrast than dark blue and light blue, but a definite improvement.
a huge improvement over their old flag. Easy to draw from memory, easy to read, the K inset fucks so hard, looks good horizontally, vertically, and on a hoist without wind. I'm so glad they picked this design (though I could have sworn it had a tricolor element on the right in semi-final/finalist rounds)
Fine in the sense that as a design, it's fine, and if I hadn't seen the previous designs, I'd be happy, but I think the tricolor variants are just way better. At least they didn't go for an asymmetric version
What happened to the green and white stripe?? That flag looked so good, why did they fuck with it?!
I'm pretty upset with the seal tbh, since the legislation specified that the new seal and flag must not adopt any symbols, emblems, or likeneseses that represent only a single community - and using the Dakota language on the seal seems like singling them out to me, especially given the non-Dakota native communities in Minnesota. Especially since from the recordings I saw, this change was largely pushed by a Dakota committee member who kinda bulldozed it through. Really wish that the committee had anonymous voting, or was moderated a little better, I felt like this whole process was a mess
(I also think having a French motto is pretty unique and they should've kept that in, but I digress)
did we all see that same cgpgreyvideo, because they did a nice thing with this one's referse thing that makes the minnesota k, but they took away the tricolor aww. its fine tho
