I used to make jokes that referenced my "online crushes" a fair amount until someone on Twitter who I barely knew responded by implying that I had a crush on them and it bothered me more than I thought it would
And they were someone I could have potentially been attracted to! It's just that the moment I feel like someone's being at all pushy about trying to tell me what my feelings are is the moment I lose interest in them
Idk I kinda wanna go back to being as fun and flirty on the internet as I used to be. I don't wanna be too ambiently intimidating because that always seems to scare off the people who actually are being gracious and sensitive. I just need to be more upfront about where my boundaries are I guess.
And sometimes when I'm addressing a big crowd I feel like I need to go back to the basics of flirting 101 like "don't assume that you're interchangeable with everyone in a person's life, especially if you don't know them well". There was one time in a Discord server when this one person saw me having some pretty heavily flirtatious conversations with friends like "ohhhh we're gonna have so much fun if I ever get myself over to where you live" and thought they could jump straight into saying the same things to me, and it was really uncomfortable. Like this is kind of a basic thing but I really need to feel like my right to say no is being respected.
