A piece of advice that I'd give to all emerging trans people, because it would have been really useful if someone had offered it to me, is that it's okay to be trans even if you don't fit the general vibe of all the trans people you know. Sometimes that just means that you're bringing something new to the table, and sometimes it means that this particular cluster of trans people is not for you.
Well part of it is that a lot of us are wearing the clothes we were not allowed to wear during our literal teenage years, but also: a lot of the things that we think of as age markers in fashion are more accurately signifiers of social status and stability. A lot of us are just dressing like people without much to lose.
