Noisome

"Look Styrnwyda, they are just as much victims of Imperial expansion as anyone else. Did you really think the Empire was gonna be normal about allowing Garleans with stark cultural differences in Garlemald? I mean. I... guess Garlean might not be the right term? Ilsabardian? Snow People? Winter Folk?" Glazangohta looked to her companion. The massive axe on her back shifting with the motion. The fire she was sitting next to popped and crackled.

"Now see 'ere Lover-mine, these'ns are refugees, an' t'Admiral said we're tae extend 'em a hand in court'sy an' friendship. I ken tha'." The matching axe on her back to the one on Glazangohta's frame tonked softly against her spaulder as she lifted the haunch of fire roasted meat and took a bite from it. Gesturing towards the group of dancing and reveling Ilsabardian's from the far north of that continent. "I ken these folk done packed in a bleedin' hurry, bein' chased by t'soldiers an' furies an' all. O' all t'things they 'ad time t'pack, really?" Her head inclined and she gestured once more with that haunch.

The shaggy haired Warrior followed the direction of her companion's roast and took in the sight of the group they were escorting once again. The way they were illuminated in the fire. The rich colours of their wool clothes. The homespun nature of them. The hides that made their hats. Of weapons they really didn't have much to speak of. Herdsman these. As for what her companion meant- one of those Reindeer of theirs let out a low into the night. "What, their animals? Your surprised they loaded their herd on the transport with them? I'm not, I mean, what would they do without them?"

Styrnwyda fixed a long hard look on her companion. "Oh fer feck's sake ye sadder bastard! No! I dinnae mean t'eir feckin' herd. I mean the bleedin' instruments! Feckin' noisome so's 'tis! How t'hells am I 'xpected tae sleep!? I've nae hadda good night's rest t'is whole damn trip!" Her brow was knit down in frustration, her teeth sank into her supper and tore away a large bite, even her chewing seemed discontent with the situation.

One of the girls was twirling on her toes to make her skirt fan, before she began to pop up and down in a hopak. The whole assembly over by their fire clapping along to the music as it played. Glazangohta's face softened before looking back to her dour companion. "I think they made sure to pack the instruments so they could laugh and sing, 'wyda..." The thick brogue'd woman rolled her eyes at her lover.

"Aye! An' water's wet. Snow's cold. Leviat'an's grumpy." she muttered. "Let 'em be happy t'eir alive. I jus' wan' some sleep afore I go t'the seven hells. T'ey can keep t'fiddles an' the triangle shaped feckin' string instrument. Jus'... t'row the 'ccordion in t'fire!"

The larger of the two Roegadyn warriors let out a belly laugh, her shaggy mane spilling back over her shoulders. "It's only a few more days 'wyda! We'll have them to grass pasture they're being given, then we'll be safely back in Limsa where /their/ accordions can't hurt you, but mark my words. You'll never escape the ones in the hands of the pirates!โ€

"Feckin' noisome, bastardly, bleedin', ear damagin, voidsent, hellsboxes!โ€

My sister is a herder
Just a herder
She stands all alone
Yes she is alone
Alone out in the snowy field

This is what mama told me
But it's not true
I saw a girl
Yes I saw her
In the snowy field with her

Together they danced
They touched hands
Fingers held tight
In the snow's cold
Together they held their hands

My sister and her lover
They are herders
They are not alone
In the cold snow
They each hold the other's hand!
