Tried mastodon, enjoyed for a while, eventually flowed too many people and burned out.
Tried bluesky, enjoyed it for a while, followed too many journalists, and had to uninstall it to keep from falling back into a doomscrolling spiral.
Is it just that, at the end of the day, my road to enjoying a social media network is to restrict your access to the masses, even the part of the masses that is doing good things and making the world better?
If so, then I understand why I love cohost so much, even if I don't post here. Because I only follow people and things I want to, and not people or things I feel I have to. And that makes such a big difference.
