honestly? despite about 70% of the thing being cutscenes, i had more fun than expected. evading around giant monsters and parrying attacks felt great and the whole game oozes production value. the combat feels much more impactful than the zippy-wippy-press-one-button stuff from XV.
still unsure about the extremely dark, gritty western fantasy tone and art direction though. there were several story beats that went so hard on the grim that i ended up laughing, which im guessing wasn't the intent. loads of blood, shocking deaths, emotional (perhaps too emotional) vocal delivery, little room for development to have any of it land effectively. if i wanted an imitation of GoT, i'd just watch GoT; really not engaged so far skdfj.
had fun when i was given the reins regardless, i might keep an eye on its release.
