man, skyrim's main quest is alot shorter than i recall. you hit the main beats quite fast with only the Blackreach section really overstaying its welcome.
for what it's worth, i do like it overall for its pacing. there's no giant slog of a questline like morrowind's earn-good-boy-points journey or oblivion's do-ten-gates bruma one. the writing itself is... ehhh, not particularly strong but at least it doesn't break the protagonist illusion if you stick to it. this is the only part of skyrim's dedication to the player's power fantasy that keeps the jig up.
and there's dragons so, yknow, slight bias. paarthunax and alduin do a lot of heavy lifting in the character department.
alduin being voiced by the mario man himself will always be a funny tidbit. he does a fantastic job! a breath of memorable fresh air compared to all the cardboard cutouts in the rest of the game.

i love that all my complaints with skyrim boil down to me hitting it repeatedly yelling "WHY WONT YOU BE MEANER TO ME" and the game responding with "the player is always right"
