I'm not nearly on the level as people with compulsive hoarding disorders but like, I completely can see how it happens. So many people are quick to go "don't they ever notice the mess?" And I gotta say, it's not always obvious to people. I pretty much have to be told what to clean in my house because I genuinely just do not process the visual stimulus of "this is cluttered and/or dirty" as a cue to clean. I have lots of reminders in place to make sure I stay on top of things but mess alone isn't enough for me to parse as mess.

If I do anything major with my life, I want it to be that I helped destigmatize accessibility options for people of all abilities. I think it should culturally be okay to visit someone's house and see that they have a reminder cards on their bathroom mirror with the steps of brushing their teeth. Laying out a weeks worth of clothes in one of those hanging cubbies should be something normal and good for adults to do. All showers should have sturdy safe shower seats. Etc etc forever and ever. You don't even need to have a reason to use accessible technology. Accessibility is for everyone

While we were getting the shower fixed my mom ordered me a new shower stool that fits in the shower a lot better. Bless her. Even when I'm not having a POTS flair, it is nice to just sit my ass down. Even if I am not sitting on it, I can stand my leg up on it so I'm not bending as much to wash my legs. I β™₯️ shower seats.
