dollar store had some very interesting puzzle books. imagine crosswords, but instead of the answers being numbered clues, its just a big word bank and you have to fit all the words in the blank crossword. they also have a number version which is also fascinating. these are extremely low-effort and could probably be machine generated, no wonder they have 4 volumes of each available for sale.

that said i bought a sudoku book which is probably also low effort machine generated, but at least feels like more of a challenge to complete. ive been doing it in pen and trying really hard to not use notes/marks to solve it, which keeps things interesting.

i guess id probably have to shell out actual money for a good crossword puzzle book, especially if i want one that isn't 95% movie stars from the 1970s and football player names. im more interested in ones that dont require pop culture knowledge,
maybe ill keep an eye out at thrift stores for those bathroom reader esque puzzle books bc i also really like logic puzzles and other types of puzzles
