although from what ive been reading im wondering if I already had the root canal when I had my temporary filling put in? is today a crown fitting? i honestly have no idea. maybe its the permanent filling. no idea no idea
it was a root canal today, I go back in 10 days for the crown. it's honestly a little bit of a joke I got the temp filling a few weeks ago bc it cost 3x as much as my root canal
Root canal is excavating the infected part of the tooth out and putting medicine in. If you're getting it done at a specialty place like an endodontist, the second phase is installing a temporary crown after the medicine has done its job. If you're getting it done at the dentist, they'll install the permanent crown during the second phase.

this might be the crowning phase then, 2 weeks ago they cleaned the infection out, put in a post and temporary filling on it. they might still need to prep it or something but I think maybe the worst part is over then?
Yup! This should be less invasive
The only downside is if for whatever reason it ends up taking longer than usual, then your jaw might be hella sore from leaving it open. But you've definitely passed the most intense part.
hi it's his wife here real quick (who got 2 root canals a few months ago OUGH) so
the temporary crown installation (as you probably know by now!) is a little invasive bc they have to clear out the temp filling and file down the remaining tooth and get a scan and whatnot to make the proper crown elsewhere before the temp crown goes on which is just like, a hard cap they glue onto the post
the permanent crown procedure will be a LOT less invasive, yes, to the point that you won't even need anesthetic! they'll remove the temp crown (which can sound somewhat distressing, they had to break mine to get it off one time, but it doesn't hurt) and then they'll fit on the permanent crown, essentially sandpaper it until it fits properly without gaps, then glue it in permanently
the worst part is definitely over, and even the somewhat bad part is over, you're in the home stretch! good luck!!!
