my therapist and I have a rule that I'm only allowed to full throatedly be involved with one social issue at a time (i.e., I get too overwhelmed and stretched thin and depressed if I try to go to every protest, call every politician, wave every sign, yfm?) and so we chose educator labor rights since day to day it's the cause that affects me the most and I can have the biggest direct impact on (I'm a committee chair and building representative for my union)
but also every time I have to do a union duty I'm like "what the hell. why me" such as the disciplinary meeting I have to witness and monitor tomorrow. I feel like I need a badge or uniform of some sort. my union doesn't even have membership cards
