I'm a known Smells Hater. I genuinely started mouth breathing as a child to avoid smelling things and it's been a struggle to train myself to take normal breaths through my nose as an adult.
But I do have smells I like! my top tier is eucalyptus+mint+menthol in any combination but best is all of them. I like menthol a lot it's a wonder I'm not a smoker tbh. then maybe potting soil or really fresh wet earth. then coffee, but not too dark or acidic of a roast bc I can smell the bitterness and don't like that. oh and I like pool chlorine which is like bleach smell but better (cat behavior tbh)
When it comes to candles and body products I will always opt for low scent or mintholyptus (word I invented just now). I really don't like floral or sweet scents (I had a lemon bar scented wax melt one time that wasn't... bad but it was too sweet smelling. cloying, frankly).
my deodorant is always a really hard smell to adjust to when I have to change brands or scents. Lately I've been favoring Old Spice Volcano since it's not super fragrant but is scented enough to not make me smell bad. It's kinda earthy and clean smelling. My body wash is eucalyptus, and my hand soap is also eucalyptus. I have some hair product that smells a little orangey (it's argan oil based) and idk how I feel about it.
fresh linen artificial scents are usually fine. and my white whale is this "bamboo" scented incense they sell at rite aid that is desperately trying to unlock a memory but I can't remember it. it smells fine, not great and a little too green smelling but it has a very positive memory attached that I can't sus out. my guess is one of my mom's scent diffusers she had when I was a kid but I have no way to confirm it.
