don't care much for lore, at least, the way the modern internet tends to do it
sure, juicy tidbits i might've missed is fun, but showing me absolutely everything a piece of media has to offer and crafting grand theories from it just makes me feel out of my depth

Emotional journey and message are vital to meaningful art. The franchise model of media has a nasty tendency to produce bland, unchallenging, interchangeable products that seek to be palatable to as many as possible, without ever communicating.
It's why one-off stories tend to be more my jam than big sagas. I need to feel things about the story.
