Oooh I've had this book on my to-read list for ages (pretty much ever since I first read the Hamad article above, haha). Really need to clear my TBR list and get to this one sooner rather than later ahaha
I can only guess the absolute IKEA-bland, spam-textured hair culture we have and like the pure sense of ownership of others peoples cultures and bodies just ramming together.
Had a middle aged lady ask to touch me (an interesting difference that she got consent first) and I have like the most standardised curly hair in the world. Like how is it interesting lol? Hair culture like less a shallow pool and more a pit with a thin film of salt water in it.
omg that is so creepy, that is good that she did at least (???) ask for consent first but still, wtf 😭😭😭
