Writer, TF Fan, The other kind of TF Fan, nerd for superheroics
Major writer for the Morohic Korps setting
Drone stuff is sucha good subject of real meaty conversation.
I'll fully admit I take a lighter hand with depicting how intense the Korps methods can be, and I def do so with droning too.
Since MK is more heavily transfomation-themed/focused, drone stuff is like a more, full change, and I like going in to how that reflects on the Drone-ee's consciousness. I tend to depict it like a variable degree of compression of the drone's thoughts. MK Drones are a little more fluid in how Robo-brained they are and most still retain some spark of the Self within, just translated through drone thought.
But on the main subject of morality, The Korps in my writing definitely reserve sit only for consensual cases, Lighthearted Sexy Scenario TF Pranks, or cases of absolute necessity.
Dronification is a good immediate treatment for sudden physical or psycho-thaumiturgical damage from, say, incomprehensible otherworldly horrors.
But like, I definitely think they'd avoid using Droning as a nonconsentual weapon.
In the words of Site-003 Subcommander Eliza: "Droning is a privilege, not a punishment."
Like, mind zonking as a method of containing a captured Fascist Fuck or getting them to spill the beans or let them transport them to a more traditional method of containment, sure.
But full on Mind Prison? Honestly, I feel like even Proton would say it'd be more ethical to just put a bullet in his brain than keep him in I Have No Mouth territory. Just feels like a fucked up degree of perpetual unnecessary cruelty.
Plus I think nobody in the koprs would really like to know that the drone they're working alongside has a Nazi center. It would make things feel really awkward.
(Sorry for the late response, life happen)
Well it varies accross a broad spectrum. Sometimes it's genuinely just convinve them to have a sit down and talk, sometimes it's the old Conversation During A Fight About Your Convictions, sometimes it's asking them if their government ordnance hero group is actually paying them all that well, sometimes it's forcing them to witness some aspect of corruption and evil authority they've been abetting through their work.
And Sometimes it's the old "Sexually dominate the hero and make them realize they're so into this" shtick, a Korps Classic.
And sometimes they're shown the light with just a little teensy bit of hypnosis or mind influence. As a treat. (Just to calm them down enough to get them to see the truth. Probably)
