Hey guys, if I draw something and share it on someone else's stream, I don't want to be rewarded and it's cool if the streamer misses it. I usually attempt to find quiet moments to post so that viewers don't miss anything on stream, and if the streamer wants to see it, it won't halt anything substantial.
The idea that I should get anything from a dumb pic I drew for a gift and for my own amusement is kind of weird to me. I'm not gonna walk into someone's house when they're hosting an event and declare that everyone look at me. My posting of art is a consensual thing, I'm allowed that trust. If I get anything out of it, it's a bonus that I certainly don't require but am eternally grateful for. Donos, subs, shoutouts, having it shown on screen so everyone can share the laugh... I'm gonna appreciate any gift that comes my way. If the joke don't land, that's whatever, they can't all be zingers.
Main point I really wanna hammer home though is that it isn't about me. The reason I don't respond to the "thank you Dubz" in the chat for the most part is that I don't wanna linger on it and take up the chat real estate unless it's something I'm particularly proud of, or it is a part of the greater conversation in the moment. I want the streamer to stay in focus, even if they're my friend, and my dumb shitty drawing I did for a laugh in 5 minutes? I'd prefer it to stay as background noise, an extra gift for the viewers. I don't wanna feel like it's a job, I just wanna draw a funny picture.
If you throw a sub my way? I appreciate it and so does the streamer most likely. If it prompts you to commission me? Even better, I'm glad the shit art made you curious enough to check out my good art. Don't get the joke? Don't worry I've drawn 2000+ of these dumb things, something will stick. Does it annoy you as the streamer? Tell me to stop, this is literally me having fun and it needs to be fun for everyone, or else that just makes me an asshole. You, as the streamer my shitpost was for, wanna use my art for literally anything? Go ahead! I farted it out with minimal effort and slapped a probably funny quote or in-joke on it, don't even need to credit me (but you're cool so you will, in which case, thankyou).
I just want people to enjoy themselves. Stream vibes are important, and I'm not here to upset them by making it about me. I will never be insulted if I cannot share my art. It's your stream, your house, your rules.
