Learning the difference between
- it’s bad (affectionate)
- it’s bad (craftsmanship/quality)
- it’s bad (I don’t like it/it’s not for me)
- it’s bad (promotes or perpetuates harm directly)
- it’s bad (actively benefits missing stairs/bad actors)
- it’s bad (seems to have nothing to say/incoherent)
And - it’s bad (has not aged well, regardless of quality at time of creation)
Has been a big step responsible for a huge element of personal growth and it all started with “ok but WHY do I love bad movies so much” im not even kidding
Anyway more people should have their own personal Manos or Six-String Samurai on their list is what I’m saying
There's also:
-
it's bad (just ok, middling, etc but came out around the same time as something that does what it's doing better/that you like better)
-
it's bad (ambiguous negative feeling you can't explain)
Sorry, I have one more:
- it's bad (other people have been talking too much about it and, despite being potentially interested in it, I am now exhausted by the meer mention of the thing so I hate it.)
