only problem for a lot of folks with specific things is that it's not retroactive and that seeing one thing can legitimately ruin an evening. i think we need to come up with some kind of social convention around tagging things that people are likely to want to muffle so they can opt in
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I mean yes, but also I wish some shit was tagged. I literally just before this post saw something that I don't think should have been CW'd but probably could have used a #body horror tag.
And frankly because of the discussions surrounding this over the last few days, I decided against asking them to add the tag in the post because the chances of it becoming Discourse and not just a "oh that's a good idea, thanks" or "I don't tag my posts, sorry" response are too high.
I'm glad I have the option to silence posts, but I think tags should be used a lot more as they at least give people some options if they'd rather not see something in the first place. But right now the response to that is "where do you draw the line" and "well mastodon sucks because they went way overboard with all of that" and again it just turns into Discourse and I'm sorry but it's real frustratin' right now.
