a lot of zhe species euphoria arguments are missing zhe point of I Just Zhink Like Zhis now lmao

and i do not have zhe energy to translate and sanitise all my posts on my side so its more palatable to a handful of creatures if it leaves my social circle

i get if you need zhat!! zhats why zhe whole translate link zhing in my bio exists, lists a whole bunch of tools for it, and if zhats not enough id just silence my account

zhe "tag every post in yingletspeak" does feel like it could work for accounts zhat flit in and out of it, but for me im not manually tagging every single post i do cause I Will Forget and zhen someone'll get mad at me again for not speaking Zhe Correct English on zhe internet

I'm just blocking people at this point. Browser extensions exist to de-yingify text; if people refuse to use them out of pride then I don't care to hear what else they have to say.

When I have to walk distances I can't do unassisted, I use the readily available solution: a cane. I don't insist that people stop building parks because of my disability.

Definitely get what you mean here. While our aversions of first person pronouns are usually a concious effort for our own comfort, Kharaya-do has had periods in the past where she avoids talking aloud to people because not speaking like that is an act of concious filtering.

I don't even go here (here being yinglets), but I tried to be polite and give that person the benefit of the doubt and gently suggested ways for them to approach the Yinglish Thing (or "zhing" I suppose) from an alternate viewpoint and instead they're doubling down and made the most unhinged rant post and I'm trying so so so so hard not to go off on them for demanding people format their own personal posts on the social media site to cater to them, specifically.

So instead of yelling at them, Im here to say keep having fun being weird little kobold lizard bat things. I'm rooting for you guys! Don't let entitled people (because it IS entitlement) push restrictions on your community for the convenience of themselves.

yeaaah like i understand all zhe accessibility concerns! ive spent days and days making tools and trying to find good ways to add alt text to plain text, and to have someone turn around and say "why should i have to use zhese, tag every post you make because you dont talk properly enough for me" rubs me zhe wrong way

i can understand requesting people talk in ways you can understand when zhey talk to you, but to request it of every post on here feels very demanding

Exactly! I think "well I want to see the personal posts from my friends who are yinglets!" Especially rubbed me the wrong way because it very much reads like "this post isn't for me but it should cater to me anyway!"

And not even entertaining the foreign language analogy because "well it's English so it doesn't count and yes everyone SHOULD tag languages other than English always" is kind of uncomfortable. I dont think "Well I already do this thing so everyone else should, and I expect and demand them to" is a great argument to make in a post that's (ostensibly) about accessibility/considering other people's disabilities.

You've provided tools to translate the typing quirk. They're pinned at the top of your page! If people want to engage with your posts, they have the means to do so and asking for you to put in additional effort to translate one of the mildest typing quirks this side of Homestuck is ridiculous.
