Sabotage is always possible, resistance is always possible, revolt is always possible. How is a matter of strategy, but anyone telling you it's simply impossible to fight back is not on your side.

The biggest lesson of 2020 was that not only can we fight and win, but the enemy is much weaker than anyone suspected and the only way we lose is by surrendering.

on the other hand, collective action has that name for a reason. don't just throw yourself to a position where we're losing numbers for the sake of it, arrests or otherwise

There's a lot of people on bluesky right now who are pissed off at Nex Benedict's death and the fact that some journalist softballed an interview with that stochastic terrorist shitstain that inspired Nex's death, and while it's absolutely justified rage, please do not publicly say things that would not look good on paper, which is something a lot of people over there are failing to do right now.

Learn some opsec, please. Your allies will thank you. ❤️

The correlary to this is, if you must do such a thing, don't do it alone, and don't get caught and identified.

in reply to @NireBryce's post:

there's a critical mass above which most arrests are prevented, as you've seen with numerous protests as a low hanging fruit example, but yes there needs to be like, tactics and planning for those too.

ALL THAT SAID, on the other hand i 100% heard someone from working families party propose that exact strategy so the trailing edge of progressivism still is stuck there

i always think of red-hand shit when i think of this which is of course one of the dumbest extremes (in a calm and orderly fashion submitting yourselves to the authorities for registration as known dissidents, as an own)

in reply to @IkomaTanomori's post:

Yeah, and even then, it's better to live. Martyrs don't get remembered that way by people outside the movement, because the majority actually believe what cops say.

RIP fellow worker Tortuguita. Murdered as a forest defender by police, and then posthumously slandered with lazily planted evidence.
