Because I started the day pissed off, and I have a lot more I could say, but for now, this.

  1. Realize that not every piece of content kink most of all will apply to you, or be your thing.

  2. Realize that a solid majority of the people who enjoy kink XYZ

Are doing so to explore that kink in a controlled and safe/no risk fashion.

Will be the first to tell you in the case of "socially questionable" ones that they don't condone said actions in RL.

Will be the ones actively trying to keep minors out,

And will be the first to make sure people in a community that cross any of the above are thrown out on their ass.

  1. Learn the god damn DIFFERENCE between the words exploration, presentation, and glorification.

4a) Walk away.

4b) If the above is too hard, then kindly fuck off through that gate, fuck off over that hill, keep fucking off till you cross that ocean, then fuck off so hard you circle back around so I can tell you to fuck off again.

Thanks for coming to my talk.

there has also been this fairly rapid shift from people being content to stay in their lane, block, and filter their web experience. intra-community bullying is not new by any means, but i just feel like fandom is far more inclined to witch hunt and abuse rather than ship and let ship and all our other older mantras - compared to even just a few years ago. i do wonder how it relates to this environment of online corporate monopoly, tracking, and especially algorithms where (predominantly younger) people have no idea that your internet experience is whatever you curate it to be. if you don't like something you do not need to engage with it. you can make it go away without interacting with the people who made it at all. you do not need to be spoon fed every tiny thing you see on the internet. god.
