I didn't invent yinglets eizher but ValSalia (as in, zhe auzhor, not za city) said yinglets are rat-birds, inspired by having pet rats and rehabilitating baby killdeer chicks. Also, very heavily, Nevreans (like from Vilous, za same worldbuilding project zat Sergals are from).
