Some idea I have been thinking about is a TFing a lot of people into the same thing. Like maybe kobolds, or some other critter that tends to be in groups. Everyone looks the same if you don’t know them, but they have some small detail that allows individuals to be recognized if you know what you are looking for. Something like a ring, or being half an inch shorter. Nothing big, but still there. Thoughts?

The neat thing about this idea is how customizable it is. Each individual could hold onto some signature item, like an accessory or piece of clothing (Scarf with her scarf, or Key with her hoodie, for example), and then they’d be very clearly distinguishable… But they could also intentionally go without such items, or even swap them with each other, to trick people or generally be harder to tell apart.

As for slightly differing physical traits, my go-to is leaving the transformee with just a liiiittle smidge of their old hairstyle worked in somehow. This works better with mammals because otherwise I just… let them keep their full head of hair… I’m a sucker for hairstyles on animals that normally don’t have them, and it makes me sad whenever a tf has that “hair falls out” stage… But uuuhh yeah that and eyes! Being able to tell by their eyes is always cool :)

Lots to think about here, especially for group tf’s like you said or for twinning scenarios where you want to see the same entity portrayed slightly differently and “played” by different “actors”! Good stuff, good ask, thank you c:
