some manner of reptile girl who is just normal most of the time but when she gets stressed she starts to secrete a layer of mucus that keeps her body temperature lower as well as making her more slippery which isn't really all that useful after civilizations started to be a thing but it helped the trait develop. & either way meeting other species they often find it weird and/or gross when it happens so she tries to keep her cool as much as possible because if it does start to happen then people start to comment on it and she gets embarrassed and more stressed which makes it happen more and overall just snowballs if she's not careful. and that's my little idea basically. becase i am a little freak

I think this is a fun way to explore interspecies enf kind of stuff too, like what if she gets more slippery and clumsy too out of the stress and mucus secretions. I can see this kind of thing applying to other fictional races too, just weird body stuff that evolved as they got more civilized, vestigial responses
