dig a big hole vs. create a secret passageway
Wisdom comes when you realize that the secret passage is just a big hole that goes somewhere, and the big hole is just a secret passage to the bottom of the hole.

As one might infer from my avatar picture, I'm a "use a rocket launcher to demolish the back wall of the barn" type of person. On the one hand, this passageway is by no means secret. On the other hand, it's not vertical enough to be a hole.
On balance I feel more affinity towards the "secret passageway" side of things. A hole is an obvious thing, whereas no one expected an entranceway in the back of the barn until I applied my creative force.
