At this juncture, I'm open to most everything short of venture funding. I honestly have no issues seeing ads if the ads are from our community.
Like that's the point of taking back the web. There's this huge infrastructure in place to shove "the graffiti of the rich" in our faces for corporations who are so disconnected from us. I don't give a shit about them. They are, unfortunately, going to be okay no matter what. But I do care about us. I do care about the graffiti that we make.
That said, I really really wish this site launched with those Patreon-style subscriptions in place. Maybe they wanted to move on something quick, strike while the iron was hot or whatever. I would've used that feature day-one if it was available. It's not. I get that it's a tiny team, but ...
