look, i love arkane with all my heart but everything about redfall screams 'approach with caution' to me. you have to understand that part of the way i enjoy video games is that i want to be fuckin left alone and not have to deal with other real people in the video game, unless they are my friends and even then i'd rather play a single player game because it dosen't require scheduling. and they can say "oh redfall works in single player" all they want but i've been down this road before. i've lost count of how many games that are clearly made for multiplayer co-op where if you play them solo it feels like the developers actively hate you for doing so. i don't trust like that. i don't enjoy being suspicious of one of my favorite developers but this industry has trained me to just expect disappointment above all else! if they pull it off, i'll gladly eat crow. but right now, there is no benefit to me for getting excited at this moment.

yeah i'm REALLY suspect of Redfall. i liked the mechanics of Deathloop and a lot of the level design but the shoehorning in of multiplayer really worried me. Redfall could be a totally great PvE game and that would be fine, but i'm pretty set on it being a mid (at best) singleplayer experience.

which is a fucking bummer because you know what Arkane does really well? SINGLEPLAYER EXPERIENCES,
