Mech Pilot who would teach you to dance but isn’t sure if they even remember.
I want to riff on this but i don't have time yet today. But this one still resonates. Ages ago, in high school, I had an idea that I tried to write/draw, a giant robot story where the main character was an engineer but used to be a professional dancer, before a car accident left him permanently disabled. The system which controls the machines by direct connections with the central nervous system means he operates it by thought, as though it was an extension of his body. As soon as they have it working, he makes it dance.
Idk if the idea is ableist, 2002 was a long time ago and I'm not who I was then. The image of the huge machine gracefully stepping and leaping while overlaid with a virtual person doing the same still feels like a good one though
in hindsight I definitely bit this idea from Evangelion at least a little but I would have only seen it once, on KQED, during fundraisers lmao. That channel ONLY showed Evangelion when trying to fundraise.
